Grace Moore was an American soprano who soared to stardom in musical comedy, the opera and the movies.

She made her operatic debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City in 1928, singing the role of Mimi in "La Boheme." She debuted at the Opera-Comique in Paris that same year in the same role. During her 16 seasons with the Metropolitan Opera, she sang in several Italian and French operas.

She came to Hollywood in the early years of "talking pictures." She made her film debut in 1930's "A Lady's Morals."

Among her films were "One Night of Love," "Love Me Forever," "When You're in Love" and "I'll Take Romance."

In a critical self-appraisal of her voice, she wrote that "there may be some who will still say it isn't [a great voice]. But I do have a voice that has made people listen, that seemed to make people happy and exhilarated."
