Julio Iglesias
With his lush, romantic sound and debonair image, the Spanish crooner became an international star in the 1970s and '80s. As a young man, he studied law and played soccer, taking up music to pass the time when he was recovering from an auto accident. He launched his career in 1968 by winning first prize at a Spanish song festival, and after finding success with Spanish-speaking audiences, he began singing in French and Italian, and later in English. His biggest U.S. hit was “1100 Bel Air Place,” a collection of duets that included the hits “To All the Girls I've Loved Before” (with Willie Nelson) and “All of You” (with Diana Ross). Another duet, “My Love” with Stevie Wonder, was a hit in 1988. Iglesias subsequently returned his focus to the Spanish and international market. In 2010 he began a tour booked to take him to Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America.
