Leroy Anderson is the composer of dozens of popular tunes, including "Blue Tango," "Sleigh Ride," and "Syncopated Clock."
Anderson was a conductor as well as a composer of light classical music. "Blue Tango" is considered the first purely instrumental song to reach No. 1 on the Hit Parade. It sold more than 2 million records in 1952.
