Marion Martin was a statuesque blond who began on the stage in such shows as the "Oomph and Glamour Revue" that played at the Paramount Theater in Los Angeles in 1940. By then, Martin already had played minor roles in a number of major Hollywood films and more significant parts in B movies.

The transition from showgirl to screen actress seemed logical for Martin, once called the most beautiful blond on Broadway.

Her film credits over the years often give her character's name as simply "blond" or "flashy blond." Her publicists touted that her tresses were so blond, she glowed in the dark.

Martin was born in Philadelphia to a wealthy family whose fortune was lost in the 1929 stock market crash, leading her to pursue acting.
