Hopkins, a petite blond, starred in the film "Becky Sharp" and appeared on stage in "An American Tragedy," "The Bachelor Father," "Lysistrata" and "The Skin of Our Teeth."
She performed in more than 35 movies, including "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," "Design for Living," "These Three" and "The Heiress."
She made her first motion picture, "Fast and Loose," in 1930 and for the next 35 years starred in an average of one movie a year. Her last major film was "The Chase" in 1966.
