Ona Munson skyrocketed to fame from vaudeville to ingenue leads in musical comedies and on to motion pictures and radio.
She played in the Broadway musical "No, No, Nanette" and in the motion picture "Gone With the Wind."
Munson took an overdose of sleeping pills at her New York apartment in 1955, leaving the note: "This is the only way I know to be free again."
