Richard Wallace was a veteran film director who started off directing Hal Roach comedies and, with the help of Corinne Griffith, became a feature director in 1927. His first picture was "McFadden's Flats."
During the next 24 years, Mr. Wallace directed scores of successful films. These included one of the earliest hit talkies, "The Shopworm Angel," with Nancy Carroll and Gary Cooper, and the first Maurice Chevalier American film, "Innocents of Paris."
