Boo Ellis was drafted by the the Lakers 16th overall in the 1958 draft. He played in 72 games for the Lakers during the regular season his rookie year and averaged 7.2 rebounds per game (third best on the team) during the playoffs, which ended in a sweep to the Boston Celtics in the Finals.
Ellis, whose Lakers and NBA career ended after the 1959-60 season, died May 6, 2010. He was 74.
