Earl “Red” Gardner is a member of the state of Indiana and basketball hall of fame and the DePauw University athletics hall of fame. The 6-foot-3 forward’s professional career was brief because of illness, but he won an NBA title with the Lakers in 1948-49. He went on to coach high school basketball in Ohio for 25 years.
