Ed Fleming spent five seasons in the NBA, including the last three with the Lakers. He joined Minneapolis in a trade that sent Clyde Lovellette and Jim Paxson to the Rochester Royals for Fleming, Bob Burrow, Rod Hundley, Don Meineke and Art Spoelstra in April 1957.

But Fleming really made his mark in basketball at the high school level, serving as coach at Wilkinsburg High from 1972 to 1992. He died of a heart attack at 68 in 2002.

“They used to call him 'Easy Ed' because he was the gentleman of high school coaches in this area," former Wilkinsburg junior varsity coach Art Griffiths said in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette obituary of Fleming.
