Less than a month after being waived by the Seattle SuperSonics in February 2008, the Lakers signed Newble to a 10-day contract, which was extended for the remainder of the season. He played in six regular-season games and one playoff game before Boston eliminated the Lakers in Game 6 the NBA Finals.
