Acquired in the trade that sent long-time Lakers point guard and fan favorite Derek Fisher to the Houston Rockets in March 2012, Jordan Hill has played a supporting role off the bench in his two partial seasons with the Lakers.
After appearing in seven games during the final portion of the 2011-12 season, Hill signed a two-year, $7.1-million contract with the Lakers in July 2012. The former first-round draft selection out of Arizona was posting the best numbers of his career off the bench when he suffered a hip injury against the Denver Nuggets in January 2013. The injury and subsequent surgery kept Hill sidelined until the playoffs, where he saw limited action during the Lakers’ first-round loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
