A defensive specialist, Martin played for four Minneapolis NBA title teams and was inducted into the basketball hall of fame in 1982. A seven-time NBA All-Star, Martin's No. 15 was retired by the University of Texas on Jan. 31, 2009, making him only the second Longhorns basketball player to receive this honor.
