Pete was my "step brother". I grew up with him. I loved him. I miss him. I wish he wasn't gone but he is. I pray that Janice and Alex and Lauren will be strong. I thank all the rescue workers who helped him out of that horrible crash. It must have been traumatic and I'm so thankful you did this for us. I thank the metro link leaders for their honesty and caring and concern about the accident. It truely was a tragedy to all. Thank you to all for your prayers and concern for the family. We will need it terribly. Our loss is great.

What terrific memories I have of Walt as we grew up on the Ranch in Somis and how the four of us kids could laugh and have fun together with a bond that was just amazing even after we all turned 50. I'm so thankful for the hours we spent in June trapsing around on the Ranch while Bailey took pictures of the four of us as a tribute to Mom for her 75th Birthday. We giggled and laughed climbing on the tractor trying to get a picture of all of us sitting on it's hood. Oh, and trying to get four over-the-hill adults up in a tree for a picture, then laughing hysterically as we each tried to figure out how we were going to get down! It was a step back in time to moments of our childhood as we wandered around the Ranch. I love the fact that we are all strong in our faith in Jesus Christ and that He is our comfort. I am thankful for our life on the Ranch, for it's memories, and for Mom and Dad whose own faith has been our example.

The Ranch will never be the same without Walt. We will see him in everything and in every place that we go out there. Though there are only three of us now...in our hearts there will always be four: Walt, Annette, Vanessa, and Tom.

I rode the Metro with Dennis from Camarillo to my stop in Simi Valley. A wonderful and good person that I miss.

I was stunned and saddened to learn of Walt's death.

Although I only worked with him for a few years, more than 15 years ago, Walt made such a lasting impression on me that I immediately pictured his smiling face when I saw the list of fatalities.

As others have said, Walt was a wonderful person to work with and for. His successful career came as no surprise to those of us who knew him at the beginning.

Godspeed, Walt. I'm sorry it ended so soon for you.

When I learned of Kari's unfortunate passing I was completely shaken and reality seemed to strike me across my face.
This was someone I had known for all my high school life, someone I had had conversations with and prayed with.

I came to realize the delicate nature of my own mortality and how I had taken many of the precious people around me; as well as my own life for granted.

I will always remember Kari.
May God be with her family.

My first memory of Roger is of a gangly 22 year old at Southampton about to embark on the Angelina Lauro for a new life in Australia - along with myself, my then [new] husband Chas, and many other hopefuls. What fun you were, we all became such good friends and early years in Australia are full of Roger stories, which I still relate from time to time ... they could fill a whole book! My last memory of seeing Roger was at Paddington Station, when he was in the UK for a visit in the late eighties [I was by then living back in England] - when he lolled [in typical Roger fashion] over the barrier at the end of the platform, awaiting my arrival with my two daughters, and chuckling away, when he spotted us, at the drollness of the situation.

In the years since, he has handwritten newsy letters every year, to keep me up to date with his life. He clearly adored his family, and the Christmas before last sent me a photo of his little grandaughter of whom he was immensely proud.

Having only heard the news this morning from my also good friend, his sister Mary, I am finding it hard to take in - what a cruel fate has taken such a wonderful chap away from all those who loved him. Reading the obituaries above brought tears to my eyes and a lump to my throat, because everything said is so true and, dear Roger, you obviously changed so little over the years and have continued to bring happiness through your kindness and your own special brand of humour to all you who knew you, however briefly that may have been.

I am so sorry for the devastation felt by your family right now. I will always remember you with love and affection - and I am so sad that we never did make it to meet up again in later life.

I was hoping she wouldn't be on the list of fatalities. I wish no one was on the list. I was so shocked with saddness and disbelief. I am so sorry for your lost. I saw the mother and her sister, I cried as they spoke of her on the tv. Please accept my condolences. I am so sorry. I will pray.
God Bless, C

Losing Donna to such sudden and tragic circumstances has left us all in shock, disbelief, and tremendous sadness. But it is comforting to see this great outpouring of sympathy and love for her family. It is very heartwarming to read the stories of Donna's vibrant and funny personality, and of the love she had for her husband, Larry and their 2 beautiful children, Larry, Jr. and Tiffany. Donna will always be remembered as a wonderful human being; a woman who found joy in living, and giving; a friend, who could bring smiles and laughter when we needed it. One of her favorite songs goes, "Don't worry, be happy"! and she's singing it in heaven! May God bless and comfort the Remata and Nieves families and give them strength and understanding

Love, Ike and Donna.
