I only knew you a short time Jacob, i knew Jordan better, but the few times you came in to your moms class i always saw her brighten up, you always made everyone laugh. It hurts so much that people i care about are being taken away, and knowing how your parents are feeling hurts worse. This is a freak accident that has irreplacable losses in it, and Hefters, im so sorry this had to happen to you.
Rest in Peace Jacob, nothing can hurt you now.

I used to ride this train and got to know Bev. She was a sweet carring lady that loved her family. I stopped riding the train when I was transfered to Santa Clarita from Van Nuys. I had ridden a few times in the past year and Bev remembered me. We talked and at the time her grandson had not been born yet but she was very excited about the comming of her grandchild. My heart goes out to her family. Make sure that Kingston knows what a geat lady his gramms was.
She will be missed

I have been heart broken and depressed since I heard the news early on Saturday morning. My family and Sharon's family have been great friends going back to the early 70's. Needless to say, Sharon and I have seen each other through many ups and downs over the years. But when she married Chris last year, Sharon and Chris glowed and I couldn't have been happier. I too knew Chris when he was introduced as a "friend" and oh how he turned out to be so much more than that. Sharon, Katie and Sam, I will be on a plane the day after tomorrow and I'll be there to give you all a hug in person. I wish there was the perfect prayer or saying for a time like this. However, the entire situation has left me utterly speechless. From reading some of the the other comments from Chris' aquaintances, friends and family, I regret that I wasn't able to spend more time getting to know him. I guess that's just a result of living 1/2 a country away. However, I stumbled across this website and I've been sitting here for over an hour reading, laughing, smiling & crying, but getting to experience a side of Chris that I never had the pleasure of knowing.

I will see you and your family(ies), along with mine, soon. Lots of Love. XO

Hefter Family, Gutierrez Family & My Steph

To the Hefter Family our deepest condolences go out to you at this time. I know nothing we say can erase your hurt, just know that Jacob is in the Lord's loving hands and he is safe. To the Gutierrez Family, Katie, Mike, Shane & Shawn we love you and are here for you. To My Steph, you are my heart. Just remember all the times you called to tell me something silly that you did and Jacob just laughed; remember how you kept trying to open a car with your remote (that was not your car) and Jacob laughed, and how you didn't get a joke (I didn't either), and Jacob would laugh, or the BIG test, how to hang up on a flip phone. My Sweet Love just remember his laugh and know that someday the hurt will ease and Jacob will want to to hear you laugh again.

We Love You With All Our Hearts,

"Your Nea Nea" and "Uncle" John.

I am shocked and saddened. I knew "coach" Ron Grace almost 30 years ago from age 10 to 15. I was in grade school and junior high at Saint Nicolas School in Granada Hills. He had a huge impact on me..always encouraged me and made me believe in myself. I achieved things I never thought I could. He had a quick wit and a kind spirit. He was always happy and positive. I was lucky to have known him. My condolences go out to his family...he will always be remembered.

I love how he really cared for his students. He wanted everyone of us to succeed. He also coached basketball games and he was a very fair man. He will be remembered for his hard work and his passion for doing his job. We will miss u Mr.Grace Shant Babayan

Mr.Long was my teacher from 7-12th grade at Grace Brethren. I can honestly say that I passed my English and Literature classes in college with ease because of what he taught me. I loved writing about "What I did this summer" in my journal every year and I loved watching movies and waiting for Mr. Long to ask us where the foreshadowing was and who was the main character. Mr. Long was like a Grace Brethren legend- everybody knew him and had "Mr.Long Stories". My older brother had him, I had him, and then my little brother had him as a teacher. I am grateful that we got to know him and learn from him. My prayers are with his family. We will miss him!
