I too was a student at the Fashion Institute and used the Metrolink as my means of weekly transportation. Words cannot describe the sorrow I feel for her family, friends, and beloved peers. Her creative mind for fashion will forever be a muse to all students at FIDM. My thoughts go out to all her loved ones. <3

i miss ron immensely. while i'd known him for a mere five years or so, ron's death has been very, very difficult to accept. i find myself here each night because, it seems, this is the closest thing to being with ron. in my fifteen years or so as an educator, ron is amongst the rarest of individuals...truly caring for and truly dedicated to all those he encountered, as undeniably evidenced by the posts here.

what great joy it would have been to have known ron the way so many people here have expressed -- what a remarkable teacher, friend, and family man he was. as a parent myself, my thoughts have been and will be with ron's family and friends...may his presence remain eternally in your lives.

Well, Roger who is going to make our Christmas Jelly now???

I grew up with Rog in England - our families were the best of friends and we always spent holidays and Christmas together. I remember pushing him around in a pram on our summer vacation so I have known him for all his 60 years - he grew quite a bit in that time and developed his lovely sense of humor, making a laugh out of everything silly. Its his daft sense of humor I will miss the most!!

The jelly thing - Rog always made a jello dessert when we got together at a family gathering....lots of different colors and fruits, a true mystery culinary delight!!

Will miss you lots Rog, it is lovely to have such a long standing friend.

Love to you Liz, Matt and Chris

It still is hard for me to believe what has happened.
Who would have known that something so horrible could have happened to a man full of compassion and love for everyone around him. I don't think I could have made it through middle school without Mr. Grace's help. He was a very encouraging man no matter what it came down to. I can recall our lunch training sessions for the high jump during track and field season. That year i got second and i owed it all to him. Actually, I owe him a lot, but now i will have to just send my condolences to his family and pray for him.
He'll never be forgotten. Rest in paradise Mr. GRACE! :]<3

Seeing Manuel in the Ventura Star brought great sadness. I couldn't believe it. Tring to stay in one piece as my heart skipped a beat I could see Manuel's dancing eyes and great smile inviting me to do yoga. He was a wonderful person. My prayers and thought are with the family. May God bless and give you all the strength to bear with your pain and sadness.

We first met Walt through Jenny, his wife, who was Matt's 5th grade teacher. She encouraged Matt to tryout for the Sliders baseball team. It was there that we met Walt and the other amazing Slider families. We have great memories of many trips together. Walt was always smiling and joking but also had a sense of calmness which was perfect on the "sometimes" intense baseball field. Pete loved sitting and talkin to Walt about baseball and other guy things. They would often compare Jenny and I and relate to the fact that they could never get a word in edgewise. :) We will always smile when we think of Walt.
Jenny, Casey, Kristi & Kelly you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family and Stephanie. Although we didn't know Jacob, we know what a great person he must have been. We have always heard the best things about him and know Steph wouldn't settle for anything but the best, and is deeply in love with him. You must have done a wonderful job raising him as it shows with all that love & miss him. He is now your guardian angel and will be with you forever. God bless you all.

Hey Rob,
I had the pleasure of meeting you on the Coast Starlight about 9 years ago out of SLO. You taught me so much about trains, and just life in general. You were one of the coolest guys that I had ever met. We seemed to hit it off right away. What happened this past Friday was truly a tragic accident. I am blessed you have known you and have been able to share my accomplishments with my friends that included you. Thanks for everything. May you rest in piece, my friend and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Mr. Grace will sure be missed.
We all miss you and thanks for everything
you have done, you made peoples lives changed
and always made people smile. I remember
one time we were playing softball against other
classes and you would be the one instructing and watching us
play, good times and i would always ask you when the games
would be because i would always be confused, you were so much
help, and i can't believe that your gone now.
I really don't think you deserved what happened on that day.
I also remember you helping me with my schedules and always being
super nice and whenever i had problems in 7th grade you would
talk it out with me, thanks for everything you made my middle school
years the best!

Rest in peace Mr. Grace, your in a better place now
& i hope your family is okay from what happened >:[
We will all miss you <3
