Keep in mind
- The Times initially mispelled the name of Michael Hammersley and Beverly Mosley.
- The coroner's office reported a 26th victim the afternoon of Sept. 15, but a few hours later said the tally was 25.
Truly had a gift for understanding and working with young adults. A devastating loss for the school and community.
I rode to and from work with Dennis For more or less the last year. It was an honor to be in his company. A teacher, musician, a family man, who had a great sense of humor. Riding to work will never be the same, but I know Dennis loved the trip, he always wanted to continue on past his stop.
I work with Chuck here in SLC. I told Chuck just days before the accident that the ramp would be losing its most entertaining friend once he moved to Cali and that he would be missed. I know that he was happy with the way things were working out for him. He lit up just talking about his plans. He loves his family and future family very much! The loss of Chuck left a hole in everyones life who knew him. I miss you Chuck and pray for your loved ones in this difficult time.
The paradox of Ron Grace is he represented the continuity of our district and at the same time the change of our district. You see, his mother was a smart and highly skilled school secretary at Roosevelt back in the days when smart women had fewer career options. So Ron was second generation Roosevelt. But he was very much a part of the future. The girls he sent up to us at Clark Magnet were filmmakers, robot builders, graphic artists and such. Ron really understood both his students and Clark Magnet. He did his work carefully always with kindness and good humor. Ron, you will be missed.
I am very proud at this moment to call Manual my cousin...He was a lil' younger than me so we didn't have great contact but after reading his website and hearing so many wonderful things about my cousins' spirit and zest for life...it is very clear to me that it is true that the good do die young...too young...he has a lot of good company where he is now...rest peacefully Primo...say hi to Pop
My husband received a call Friday evening summoning him away from our family to serve at the scene of the accident in Chatsworth. Later that evening we received a call from my parents informing us that a brother in Christ at FCC had been aboard the train; we began to pray for his safe return to his family.
Shortly after returning to the scene of the accident the next morning, my husband learned that our brother in Christ, Doyle Souser, had gone home to be with the Lord. Our prayers intensified for this dear family who has suffered such a great loss; yet, we take such great comfort in knowing we grieve not as the world, but as those with hope. Doyle is home rejoicing with his Savior. It is for the precious family he left behind that we now pray with fervency.
Although we have never met you, it is clear from the testimonies of those who know your family, that Doyle used his life to impact eternity. And although it was not his routine to be on the 111 train, God placed him there for a reason. In His Sovereign grace and timing we can rest and find comfort. Only eternity will reveal the extent of the impact Doyle had in this life...perhaps even to one on the train that afternoon.
"The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and he knows those who take refuge in Him." Nahum 1:7 May the God of all peace comfort you in your time of sorrow.

I, too saw and heard the love for your sister as you spoke in front of the cameras. My heart went out to you. I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Aida.
Just from your words, I could feel that she was a very special person and you had a very special bond. Never let go of that. Celebrate the beautiful memories you have of her and go for her dreams and yours. Just know that every second, Aida is with you, you'll never be alone.
God bless you and your family.
To the Hefter family,
My sister is a neighbor to Jacob's dad, someone I have seen in passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God's promise is extended to us all and HE has a purpose. May GOD bless & keep you
With Sincere Sympathy
I rode the 519am train from Simi Valley with Spree for only the month or so that she had been riding it since changing jobs to downtown. I didn't know her or her name, but she had that special quality of being very noticeable not only because she wore her uniform every day, but also because she had the look of someone very serious about her job & her life, yet also the look that she was truely a kind soul. I briefly spoke to her the morning of the crash after riding the train in & waiting for the bus to take us toward PAB. I think what really saddens me is that I won't get the chance to get to know her, and again speak to her in those early mornings anymore.
The Fuller Family is mine and my husband's adopted family in California. The time we spent in California was made so special because of their family. We are always thinking and praying for them at this time. It was our pleasure meeting and knowing Walt. Walt was a wonderful man and he could always put a smile on your face.
