Chatsworth Metrolink Crash Comments > Page 146
Keep in mind
- The Times initially mispelled the name of Michael Hammersley and Beverly Mosley.
- The coroner's office reported a 26th victim the afternoon of Sept. 15, but a few hours later said the tally was 25.
Most of the happy thoughts of my childhood are filled with memories of Roger, Liz, Matt & Chris. Like my sister said, as kids we'd get so excited when we knew there was an upcoming evening or event to be shared with the Spacey's. We would usally talk about it for days before hand. It inevitably meant the kids got to watch movies alone (yes it was usually National Lampoons) in the other room while the adults played Trivial Pursuit. I can remember how happy it made me feel to sit and listen to them. There always seemed to be so much laughter around Roger and Liz. I can still hear Rogers wonderful and infectious laugh and see those sparkling happy eyes. You tend to loose touch with people sometimes but all of the Spacey's have always and will always hold such a special place in my heart and I can't express the sorrow I feel for them right now. I was shattered to hear this news, the world has lost a truly beautiful person. Liz, Matt & Chris I miss you guys, my love and thoughts are with you and the rest of your family and friends right now.
Kari your time came way too soon. May you rest forever in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Atul and I were great friends in high school. We shared practically all of our academic classes and were both part of instrumental music. I would memorize quirky Internet raps and sing them to him, and we would have a blast trying to outdo one another with puns or other comedic strides. After school we lost touch, but I always knew he was destined for greatness. I knew that he could easily excel in anything he put his mind to. He was charismatic and a great debater, he was an excellent saxophone player, he commanded the English language and mathematics with great intelligence, and yet he could still manage to party hard; all without breaking a sweat and with seemingly little effort. He was a jack of all trades and a master of them all as well. People like that are rare, and it is most unfortunate that they are now even more rare with his departure. What has happened seems almost unreal, and I am still in shock and disbelief. Remembering the good times is probably the best way to get through it, for there are so many good memories that he gave us.
I join the familiar names I see above from Maria's elementary school days in sending blessings to the Villalobos family.
We are very sorry about your loss of you daughter.
God Bless your family.
I am so deeply saddened for the loss of your beloved daughter. May the lord give you and your family the comfort and strength during this difficult time. Your daughter will be in all of our hearts as she touched so many people lives she didn't even know.

Mr. Long was a man of God and a great teacher. I first met Mr. Long back in 1989 when I first came to Grace Brethren High School. He greeted me with open arms and a big smile. There are so many things that this great man of God taught me, one of them is to never give up and to pursue your goals and dreams. It took me 6 long years to get onto the Los Angeles City Fire Dept. but every time I wanted to give up, I just thought of every thing he taught me.
As one of the fireman that was there at the train crash its one of those calls that you never wish to go on. As tears come down my face right now I know that Mr. Long is up in Heaven right. The images that I saw that day, I dont think will ever go away. You will greatly be missed!!!!!!
We never met Howard, but spoke to him on the phone for several years. My husband works for DWP and Howard was always so helpful to us. Especially to me. I always had so many questions and he was so friendly to me. When I took my state insurance test, I called him for several questions and he helped me with answers. I was in shock when I saw his name today in the paper. It broke my heart to hear about his untimely death. We will pray for your family. God Bless your family. Again,we are very sorry for your loss.
