Walt was a faithful friend and co-worker. I remember that Friday as we worked together in the office area getting the tower ready for new carpet. He was in a great mood, smiling all day and even insisted on buying my lunch! That is my last memory of a good man who loved the Lord dearly.

I would agree with the first sentiment. Please do not pass judgment until all the facts are revealed. In the event it is determined an error was made, please FORGIVE. We ALL make mistakes.

I've endured tragedy in my life (lost two family members in TWA FLIGHT 800 in 1996) and casting blame doesn't bring back your loved ones. In fact it prolongs the healing process.

I live less than a half mile from the site and am reminded of the incident on a minute-by-minute bases. My prayers are with ALL families who may have lost someone and for those who were injured. My prayers especially go out to the Sanchez family who probably had an exceptional son, brother, uncle, neighbor. Etc., but unfortunately we don't get to hear that side of the story. He obviously was a caring man as he adopted 4 dogs (so they report).

God had a need for the people who perished in the accident, as he had a need for my two family members when they lost their lives in a commercial plane crash. I leave you with a sentiment a little girl wrote to the surviving family members of the TWA crash:

Metro has loss one of its finest workers. My prayers are with the Remata family. Donna and I would always talk about our dogs. She was such a nice lady and I will miss her tremendously. She would always be there to help you.I would ask her how are things and she would say "Everything is Marvelous".I will always remenber that about her. She is an angel in the sky.

This is a terrible loss for all involved in Ron's life. We especially pass on our thoughts and prayers to Jan and the boys, Andrew and Brian. We also feel so bad for the close group of Ron's friends that introduced us to Ron and Jan some 20 years ago. My memories of Ron are mainly of talking in depth about sports and trying to figure out the horses at Santa Anita or Del Mar. But as evidenced by all of the above responses, Ron's greatest contributions, aside from being a great husband and father, were to the young people that he mentored over the years. Ron definitely made a difference in the world and we'll miss him tremendously. Go Chargers!!!

I met and knew Walt way back in college. Even then, every aspect of his values, personality and brotherhood testified to the great life he would have, Lord willing. It is obvious that Walt ran the race well. The winds of time and distance have not allowed me to cross paths with him since, but nothing said above surprises me. My wife, Sharon, and I send his family and friends our open hearts and our special prayers.
