Still thinking about you and still missing you<3 You were the best second dad anyone could ask for. Sorry I got mad at you for spelling my name wrong when I was little. It is a blessing to get to be a part of your family. I love having so many older brothers and sisters to look up to and especially an amazing second mom who is always there for me no matter what. At every dance recital, every graduation or every college visitation with my own parents<3 I miss you so much and am so grateful that i got to be apart of your life. I will never forget you good ol mr wat<3

I miss your smile. I miss your voice. I miss your heart and your wisdom. I miss you my friend. Just know you are loved and you are so greatly missed. Nothing will replace you.

I love you...and I kept my promise.

Your friend,

Meg

Spree,

It’s been 2 years, since I last heard your voice, smelled your smell, held you in my arms,... 2 years since I have felt the joy of having you in my life. If I could die from a broken heart, I would be with you now.

Until then, I will keep your memory in my heart, practice what you have taught me and try my best to make you proud.

Your spirit will always be with me.

Your Spouse and Soul Mate,

Laura

While Mr. Sanchez made a mistake, it was the system put in place by Metrolink's administration that allowed a simple mistake to cause such a tragedy. Placing the station after the second warning light so an enigeer had to stare intently to see that the third light was red and not to be passed, is one example. A repeater light could have been at the station and "in his face" so he would know not to proceed even while distracted by his texting. Ignoring reports of his texting behavior is another. Allowing sloppy communication between the conductor and engineer is another. As long as Metrolink looks outward for blame, and not inward to improve, deaths will continue
