To the Grace Family:

My sincere condolences to Mr. Grace family. I was a student at Roosevelt Jr. High in Glendale 1989 - 1992 and I recall his kindness and willingness to help students out. He will be missed........

TO MY DEAREST FAM. VILLALOBOS I KNOW WHAT WE ARE GOING THROUGH IS REALLY HARD .
THERE IS REALLY NO WORDS TO CONSOLE ALL OF US FOR OUR LOSS.
IT HURTS US REALLY BAD TO LOOSE ON OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS
AFTER I KNEW SUCH A LONG TIME AND SUCH A BEATIFULL LIFE SHE HAD.
AFTER ALL SHE WANTED TO BE FAMOUS SHE IS GOING TO GET HER FAME EVEN THOUGH SHE WILL NOT BE WITH US.
I LOVE YOU NENA JUST TO LET YOU KNOW I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU EVER.

I will always remember Michael for his cheerful "hello" as
he rushed in to pick up the mail. No matter how fast he worked he always said a few things, like "I won't be here next week, I am going on vacation". I would tease him and say 'again?' and he would explain that he had accumulated too much time and he had to take it.

I remember when I went to another division to work some OT and he came rushing in and stopped short with a shocked expression on his face. We did get a laugh of that. Michael, I am glad I knew you...

I saw your family on the news that awful night waiting for word of your daughter Maria. My heart stopped knowing what it's like to be waiting for a child - not even under those horrible circumstances. I tried to find out what happened hoping & praying that your daughter was going to be OK. When I opened the paper a week ago & they showed the 25 fatalities Maria's face jumped out at me. I read about each & every one & hoped that that beautiful girl with the beautiful & brilliant smile hadn't been come from the Fashion Institute of Design. My heart sank when I read that Maria was one that did not make it. For some reason your family touched me & when I saw her picture I felt that I had such a strong sense of what a wonderful family you are & how deeply you are mourning your loss. To lose a child is such a tragedy but my only hope that one day the happy memories that went along with that smile will be more abundant than the deep grief you & your family are going through at this time. Please know that my thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.

Often, we don't realize how much another individual made us smile until they're no longer with us. Chuck had a dynamically, unique ability, regardless of mood or content, to bring a smile to any conversation. He is, and always will be an infamous part of the Delta family, and will truly be missed. May God bless his family and friends during this time.

I agree with the last post from an unknown friend. If I may be allowed to share, I have written two tributes to Robert at a web site called storymania.com if you click on http://www.storymania.com and look for my name Shelley J. Alongi on the author's page you can click on "Memorial to a Train Engineer" and "The Freight Train from Nowhere" which explains my sympathy for him and the understanding that we all go through so many stages of grief and loss. The only common ground I share with Robert may be that we may have shared the same track or that we both like animals (I'm a cat persom). These tributes are meant to help bring healing. I don't know your policy on this but please feel free to click on this site and read my work. It is free, this is a public web site with all kinds of writing on it. Please feel free to read my tributes or anything else you may want to read by me. My heart aches for this family and for the others, I hope I may be permitted to help in the healing at some time. Very respectfully and sincerely, shelly, Pearl and Brandy (the cats)

So many wonderful tributes, so well-deserved for such a dear person. Although it's been many years since we last saw each other......on a family visit to the Spacey home with Mary and her family, when Chris and Matt were quite small, I have warm memories of Roger. His passing is a great loss to the Spaceys but I hope the numerous fond memories will continue to warm your hearts forever.

Keep in mind
  • The Times initially mispelled the name of Michael Hammersley and Beverly Mosley.
  • The coroner's office reported a 26th victim the afternoon of Sept. 15, but a few hours later said the tally was 25.
