Chatsworth Metrolink Crash Comments > Page 75

Keep in mind
- The Times initially mispelled the name of Michael Hammersley and Beverly Mosley.
- The coroner's office reported a 26th victim the afternoon of Sept. 15, but a few hours later said the tally was 25.
God Bless you, one and all. To your families, and your extended families, Peace and Blessings. I am praying for you. For PRAYER IS THE MIGHTIEST SOUTCE OF POWER KNOWN TO MAN.
To My Dear Friend Beverly,
I remember all of our laughter we shared as we worked night shift in Labor and Delivery at Kaiser Permanente. Thank you for your friendship. May the good Lord bless your daughters and their families and keep them in his care.
I am an Alumni of FIDM and my heart goes out to the family of Maria. As a fellow Metro commuter myself i feel saddened with this lost, such a young girl full of life, dreams and hopes.
May God bless you...
I knew her because she came into my Starbucks for coffee. She was a regular. She stopped by my drive-thru on her last visit to say it would be her last visit because she was being transferred downtown. It bugs me that I cannot remember specifically what she drank. I could tell she was serious about her job right away by her attitude and the way she carried herself. But when I recognized her and said hello, she would always break into a smile. I did not know her that well, but I will miss her. And I am not the only one at Starbucks who will. Farewell, Officer DeSha. Rest In Peace.
To the family of Donna,
I worked with Donna at Division 7 and at Stationary. She trained me when I became a stock clerk at Metro 9 years ago. I had usually worked in an office environment so performing a position as a stock clerk, for me was challenging. I remember when I first met her I was really impressed by her strength, determination and dedication. She was so efficient. Everything was always so perfect. She trained me the right way and didn't cut me any slack. I recall the day that she trained me on moving the 55 gal drums of oil. She moved them like they were toys that she was playing with!..I tried to do the same but I couldn't quite do it. She kept with me until I was able to achieve it. I have always remembered that day. When she would work a double and I would come to relieve her she always had a smile on her face. I'd ask her how she was able to do it and she would smile and say that it was "no problem". She was so inspirational. Her storeroom will never be the same.
Her smile and her comments 'Doll' and when you asked how she was doing it was ALWAYS 'Marvelous' will be missed by many.
I'd like to share my deepest condolences to you all. I just lost my brother in '06 and my mother in '07. Both losses were unexpected. So I can say that I know how it feels. My heart and prayers go out to you. Live in her memory and remember that she will be walking with you everyday. May god be with you today and ALWAYS.
I believe your gigantic beautiful smile, warm genuine hugs, and the lyrical tone in which you called me 'darling' was a gift you unselfishly shared and will be forever be etched in my mind, cherished in my heart, and is confirmation of your ability to touch ones' soul - I am so grateful for having known you, I will miss you dearly. Please watch over us all.
To ther family,
I have never met Beverly, but reading the messages I'm find in my heart that I knew her a special person. Our God is an awesome God. He will never put on us more than we can bear.
My heart and prayers go out to you all. To lose a loved one is a hurt that know one but God can heal. Cards words and good deeds can cover it. But trusting in in God will see you
thru. May God Bless you and thought of wisdom are with you.
I knew Robert as well... He was a kind, genuine, happy man. The press is full of inuendo and "facts" that have nothing to do with this unfortunate event. Remembering back to the Atlanta Olympics and the bombing that occured. The press and public quickly looked for a scapegoat in a man named Richard Jewell who was soon proven to be innocent, but his name and reputation was destroyed. Let the people who investigate these things do their job and release their findings and facts before any judgement is passed. Robert made a positive impact on my life and I enjoyed his kind spirit and heart. I also hope his dogs are not just sitting in a kennel wondering what happened to their master, but will be well cared for and loved by someone. My heart goes out to all impacted by this tragedy may each soul rest in peace.
I was deeply saddened when I saw Walt's name in the Ventura County Star as one of the train victims from last Friday. I had the pleasure of meeting Walt and his family by going to watch my husband play softball. I loved sitting there watching the men and talking to Walt's daughter Kelly. I could tell that they are a very close family like my own and how much they love each other. My heart goes out to Walt's entire family.
Howard Pompel also had many many co-workers and friends at Blue Cross of Ca also which has not been spoken of. We were all friends with him and adored him because of his good nature, kindness and love and likeness for people. We worked side by side with him and he became our friends also
I really appreciated him because we were both from the East Coast and his values, attitude, bluntness and even brashness was appreciated by me , I "got him ". Only people from back east understand eachother like we did and have a close affinity to eachother like we did.
From dust to dust Howard, you were an awsome man. I believe in life , God has a special place for you now and he took you specifically because he has greater plan for you like he did with Francis Embry( Blue Cross of Ca). Death is not by accident and by chance but your name was in the "book of life" from the beginning. Although your death was untimely for your family and friends physically that have to live without you , there is greater joy for you with GOD now!
