We served together for many years and he was always great to be around. From Korea to Germany and back around, I remember when our paths crossed the first time on 1st tank MST, we shared a love for the job and many nights were spent either turning wrenches or out in the 'ville. Phil, when I heard of your demise, I could not believe it. I know that one day we will meet again. Till then my friend, take care, see you on the other side. I did not know Sgt. Phillips, but after reading some of the comments I almost felt as if I knew him based on people's memories. It's also a reminder to share thoughts and kindness to those in our lives while they are here with us. I have never seen this page in the LA times before, but I was moved by people's comments and sharing of their friends and loved ones. It is very sad to see so many names, and this is not all of them in the US. RIP and God bless! Thank you for your selfless service to the United States of America. You were a friend, you were a mentor, and you were a brother. We were all family in the 5th and you are still missed to this very day. It still brings tears to my eyes when I think about the fact that you are no longer with us. I pray that you are in a better place, and I know that one day we will meet again. The world was a better place with you. Fri, 11 Nov 2011 03:09:23 -0800
