Best mechanic I ever had. I could go to him for anything. We would work on my truck, laugh and joke about everything. He was a great friend. I was deployed to Iraq with another MP Unit when this horrific day occurred. I was at Camp Victory at the PX when I ran into some fellow MPs from the 127th MP Co and they informed me that he was gone. I remember hugging my friend and we tried to hold back the tears, but we couldn't. He was a great friend and I will never forget him. I miss you brother. Until we meet again. He was my aunt's cousin and the first person distantly related to me to have died in the Iraq war. I was at my grandma's house when my aunt came home and told us that he died and that his girlfriend cried so much. I didn't catch his first name but only remembered he was a Vue. I didn't know him, but I understood of his sacrafice went into the bathroom and secretly cried for him and his girlfriend. I never forgot him and here I am 10 years later searching him up. Thank you Thai. Fallen but never forgotten. Please take comfort in the hope of the resurrection(John 5:28) jw.org Thu, 27 Jun 2013 08:26:26 -0700 Jim McCay on December 5, 2010 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/thai-vue/#c42409 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/thai-vue/#c42409 I never knew him in life, but I was there when he died. I was at the Internet Cafe when the shelling started. I ran to get my armor; a comrade of mine already had his on and was outside. When I was going out to aid any wounded, McGowen pointed me toward Vue and ran to the TMC to get trained medics. I tried to help him, but it was too late. A single drop of blood was working from his brow to the ground, but it was so hot that it coagulated before falling. There was no more blood following. I will never forget that image as long as I live. After completing the first responder protocols, I didn't know what to do so I talked to him. I told him I was sorry and said a prayer. Another soldier ran up in her PT uniform and armor asking "What do we do?" I told her "Nothing, he isn't bleeding anymore." A trauma team showed up with an incredible amount of equipment and put forth a herculean effort to save him. I wish I could say their efforts were rewarded. 2 years later on my second tour in Iraq, I saw a soldier with the name VUE. "Hey, are related to Thai Vue?"He said "I'm Thai Vue!" "You're not the Thai I'm thinking of, he died about 10 miles from here 2 years ago." That guy just looked at me and went pale. I was searching the 127th MP CO and found Thai's picture. Six years later I am finally getting to say good bye. We were in the same company though Thai was a mechanic and I a military police officer, he was responsible for the trucks remaining in working condition. Never did get to say thanks. So thank you Thai and hope your family is doing well. Sun, 03 Jan 2010 01:33:08 -0800
