God Bless you and your family. But you died for me literally if I would have been there you would probably be home now and I would be fallen maybe in Heaven maybe in Hell lol who knows. I just want you to know the life you gave me the opportunity has not went in vein. I speak but you everywhere I go and guess what I pursed country music like you told me too. I'll never forget the day you left and I gave you my Leatherman my Mom gave to me because you had that crappie Gerber. I said just give it back to me when you come home. I didn't know that would be the last time we would speak or I would have said so much more! Anyway I'm leaving my website not for promotion but for your family to see that their sacrifice was not in vein and that great soldiers like you really do change and save lives. I kept fighting the good fight amigo making a name for myself but make no mistake everyday I breathe every life I touch I never forget who got me there. this best way to end this is simple battle buddy "though he may be small, he is mighty" Please Rel family reach out to me www.jacksonyoungcountry.com Sat, 28 Mar 2015 04:10:43 -0700 nc on November 27, 2013 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/rel-a-ravago-iv/#c139028 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/rel-a-ravago-iv/#c139028 Please take comfort in the promise of the resurrection(John 5 :28,29) Wed, 27 Nov 2013 07:31:56 -0800 Jackson Young on November 11, 2013 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/rel-a-ravago-iv/#c137497 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/rel-a-ravago-iv/#c137497 My story is a little different than everyone else's about Rel. You see he was my battle buddy and the detail he got killed on more than likely would have been mine therefore I feel he gave his life for mine. Rel was larger than life if you knew him, calm, like sunshine, he showed me no greater kindness than I've ever known, I won't go into details on that cause it's about him not me... To his family I just never knew what to write or say for your loss other than thank you for giving so much so I could live and raising the finest of young of young men. Your son made a life lasting impression on me by leading by example everyday. I was discharged 3 weeks before deployment up in his barracks is the last I spoke with him, smiling like he always did... My mom bought me a leather men for my birthday it's a utility tool we use in the field, Rel always borrowed it cause the Gerber he had was crap lol and I d tease him about it. That day I reached in my pocket and I pulled it out and put it in his hand and said "come home safe, thank you for everything you ever done for me, you are a great friend and battle buddy" he smiled and said "no worries" I never spoke to him again, he was the one soldier I wanted to come home, I found out what happened through people magazine... I feel to my knees... I just wanted you to know that your son was more than a solider he was a living inspiration that left a life time impression on me when so many turned their back Rel proved that it doesn't matter how big something is the best things can come in the smallest of packages. I never can give back your son but I would like you to see what is sacrifice was not in vein jacksonyoungcountry.com is my company, I'm a professional country music singer who helps vets and other charities, your son has been inspiration in my music and life philosophy and we have gotten to change lives because of it and will continue to be able to because of it! I'll leave you w this Rel was not a huge country fan but in the cp he would always have me sing she'll leave you with a smile by George Strait I thoughtI thought you would take comfort in knowing because of your son and his kindness I went on to live my dream and now I can because of him help people believe in theirs god bless you you are always welcome at a show front row on me Mon, 11 Nov 2013 11:00:08 -0800 Beth on August 15, 2010 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/rel-a-ravago-iv/#c35755 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/rel-a-ravago-iv/#c35755 Yup, Rel was a good guy, in every sense of the word. Relish is a good one. I called him silly things like Smelly Relly. I have letters that he wrote me while he was away in my fire-proof box. You're a good man, Charlie Brown. I used to call him Relish. I remember we used to practice all kinds of gymnastics, martial arts, and quote Bruce Lee. I don't think I've ever seen him mad except when someone tried to step up to me back at Hoover. You're still missed... Rel was always a little joker with me, I miss him dearly and I will always remember the time I ran into him at the 7-eleven at midnight. He was a great person, never selfish always thinking of others before himself. Hero is word that I would connect Rel with. I miss you... I miss your smile and how you used to blush when I asked you to break dance for me. I loved watching you dance. I miss talking to you about all your girlfiends back home. I remember Becky and Jessica and I would got all dressed up to go pick you up in the baracks and all your buddies would see your going out with 3 girls and be yelling and teasing you about having all the girls. We loved it... cus you would giggle and blush and it gave you props with the guys...=) All you wanted to do was get out and go back home to Cali to become a x-ray tech and take care of your mom. I remember having a conversation with you before you left......... you were so stressed out.......... you said..........If I die at least I will be taking care of my mom......... your were so selfless thinking only of your family first.....You didn't deserve this.......... and your laugh... your laugh and smile could light up a whole room. I fully blam your death on that comander that made you drive that truck. stupid ass knew that you guys were not supposed to be out without a convoy. your so inocent Rel and you always were. The only reason you went in was to take care of your family. All the crappy soldiers came back and the good ones didn't.... I just wish I could here you laugh again and watch you dance. Miss you Rel and you will always be loved....
