It hurt me greatly when I heard of his death in June 2016. I have lost friends before, but Rex was a quality guy who was one of a kind. Glad we flew those hours together brother, you earned a place in my heart. May all blessing be with and stay with his family. As a Pvt in the aviation field, not all of the warrant officers showed care for those beneath them. But he was kind and I respected himfor that and for his skill at what he did. I will never forget. RIP Fri, 31 Dec 2010 02:53:59 -0800 David Jacobson on September 4, 2010 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/rex-c-kenyon/#c37083 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/rex-c-kenyon/#c37083 To the Kenyon family: May God's grace provide comfort to ease the loss you have suffered. To the Times: Thank you for publishing this detailed database. To Jennifer Delson, Times obituary writer: You may feel that Mr. Kenyon was "lured" by an Army recruiter in 1990 to fly helicopters, but you obviously don't understand the passion this young man had for flying. He spent 16 years after being "lured" doing what he loved to do. He gave his life while involved in his passion. As a former military pilot, I say how dare you belittle the choice he made to pursue flying. If being "lured" was an opinion of someone else you had interviewed for the obituary, then that should have been specified. Then all would know just who held such a contemptuous attitude towards Mr. Kenyon's life.
