I only knew him as a child but I remember him as a friend and as a strong, principled person, even at that young age. Today on this Memorial Day weekend I remembered him to my family and presented his story as an example of selfless patriotism, and more as and example of heroic masculinity in the face of enormous danger. As we grew older we drifted apart, but my memory of our youth, and my solemn admiration of his families great sacrifice will always remain with me. I am proud to have served with you! Thank you for being such a good buddy when I first came to the unit all those years ago at Bragg. We were 9 feet tall and bulletproof back then. I am proud you continued your service, in Afghanistan. After all you served and served again. I was with you in Somalia, then again in Haiti. It hit me like a sledgehammer when I saw your photo on the cover of USA Today. I remember the day you told me you we going SF near the old CQ at Bragg. I'm sorry your family lost you. You fought the good fight and you will always be remember! I am a mother of Army, and my family members are/were Army too. I shared on my facebook timeline about my experience at Green Hills Cemetery in California, and how I came across the Monument of "Cody". I was drawn there without knowing what for, and I was guided to this Monument of this Brave young man. It so happens that my name is DEBORAH PROSSER. I have read up about him and his family. I am trying to figure out why I was drawn there, and if it was by "Cody" or his father, Brian. I just want to express my Thanks to "Cody" for his sacrifice and to his family. I will have him in my heart always. I will visit this monument on a regular basis. I shared his story with my family and my friends. Friends then shared my timeline post also. I hope all see AGAIN the bravery he showed for us all. With love, Deborah PROSSER-Wolf. <3 Tue, 22 Oct 2013 12:05:22 -0700 Steven Soublet on May 26, 2013 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/brian-cody-prosser/#c121142 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/brian-cody-prosser/#c121142 Brian was an all around good person and soldier. He was my roommate in PLDC @ Camp Jackson, Korea. I will always remember Brian helping me with the Land Navigation portion of PLDC. I am forever grateful to him for reaching out to me. I was in total shock to here that he was among the very 1st casualties in Afghanistan. Brian has truly done his family and country proud. It was a blessing to have known him and he will never be forgotten. Wars are so senseless. The Bible gives a wonderful hope for the future. It tells us that at Psalms 46:9 that: "He is making wars to cease to the extremity of the earth." There will be no more wars. And you will have a chance to see Christopher again. Jesus is the resurrection of life. Read John 5:28,29 and that will give you another wonderful hope. May you have peace and comfort.
