He was a great solider, and a great friend. Memories of staying up almost all night in the barracks playing GTA together with Frenyea and Delayo. Making up stupid bets between us four. Training in the field and no matter how bad the weather got or how tired all of us were, he would always laugh or smile. Going to the tattoo shop together, laughing so hard when he got the lip tattoo on his chest. Even during our deployment living out of connexs he would smile and laugh. Joking about how it's not gay to scrape another mans back with your ID card to get rid of prickly heat. You and our time together will forever change my life. One day I will see you again and hear you laugh. I never would of imagined someone so close to me would become a casualty in this war, even when I joined the Marine Corps my junior year of high school. We had lost touch throughout our high school years, but unfortunately there was no chance to catch up, because out of no where i received a call from another old friend telling me what had happened. Chris was definately the most caring out of my group of close guy friends. He was open about his emotions and genuinely cared about how his friends were feeling or doing. Its so hard to find friendship like that now a days but I had that with him. Due to my training schedule, I was not able to go to Chris's funeral..and I know the feeling of losing a close member of the family in an abrubt manner, so I do extend my deepest condolences and pray that his family's pain is comforted by his loving memory that will forever last.
