You were my first Soldier as a Team Leader. I wish you could have stayed in my team and squad all the way through because you were a hard-working, driven, and loyal man. I think the world of you, bro. And I never miss sharing a drink with you on Oct 4th or Memorial Day. I miss you like family. But don't worry...we of 1st PLT, 2-2SCR keep your memory alive and well! I didn't know Avealalo but I have a story to tell about the memorial bracelet (which bears his name, rank, date and place that he was taken from this world) which I have worn for the past three years now. It provided me comfort while my Son Chris was deployed in Afghanistan. I feel as though Avealalo could have been watching over my son as this is what I prayed and asked him to do. I've thought about Avealalo and his sacrifice alot, I've researched who he was, where he came from and read the many tributes from friends, family and many soliers who served with him. I thought of how proud his parents must have been. I would like to return this memorial bracelet to his family now because it has provided me with such an unexplainable level of comfort that I think they should know and have it. I still remember the great sacrifice you gave Milo. I remember the good times we had in Washington and Germany. Milo and i were training together in hoenfels Germany after being friends for years. I was in the weapons squad with him. There is only two men i told that i trusted them with my life before we went over. He was the first. I will always miss him and remember him. 4 years later i still leave a flower at the memorial in my town in his name. It is exactly the same time 4 years ago i lost one of my brothers. I am glad you could find peace in this chaotic world. See you on the other side when my time comes.

I was Milo's Recruiter and I can tell you this much. Avea was one of the most humblest and genuine individuals you could have ever met. He was a GREAT young man that served his Country Proudly. I met him while he was working for Walmart in Union City. I am sure that his Brothers in Arms got to meet and know the man that I am describing. Milo may you Rest In Peace and I know that heaven has got itself a True American Hero who still watches over each of his Battle Buddies. You will never be forgotten bro. To your family my thoughts and prayers still continue and will never end. Avea I will one day see you on higher grounds and hopefully you can show me around. HOOAH!

Milo, I can't begin to express how much your friendship means to me. Though you are not here in body you are still with your brothers in spirit watching over us. Keep a place for me under that coconut tree of yours and when I get there you can teach me how to play that guitar of yours. Unfortunately you kept your promise. I miss you every day bro. Milo, It just seems like yesterday we deployed together. I cant believe its been over 2 1/2 years since you were called upon to a greater place. I think about the times we had together everyday.
