You are the reason I am still serving today. I know you would give anything to be on duty one more day.....Semper Fidelis. I served together in 3/4 WPNS Co Dragons Platoon. He was a Lcpl. When I first met him and he always took care of me as you young Marine coming out of SOI. I always hoped that I would run in to you somewhere and catch up, I guess I'll have to wait 'till I see you in heaven. Rest In Peace my brother. I love you and will never forget you. You wont be forgotten, and i always remember my boot camp days and the role you had in making me a better man. Semper Fi. San Diego platoon 1054, and former 2/7 Fox Company Marine. I think about you every day that passes... A song. A movie. A moment in time. I don't get to share these things with you any more in the physical world. But that doesn't stop me from saying it out loud. I know you hear me. Fri, 19 Aug 2016 11:10:09 -0700 Brian Leverett - Former Marine on May 28, 2016 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/allan-k-walker/#c184494 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/allan-k-walker/#c184494 SSgt Walker was my the "heavy" of my boot camp platoon. I still tell stories to this day of some of the torture he put us through in his 100% dedication to bring the best out of those who desired to be Marines. He had heart, is only half the description. I still remember the time he broke a finger in what appeared to be in half only to continue using it in the same exercise as though he felt no pain. I could only conclude in my 18 year old mind that he was somehow invincible. Somewhere in the fleet I had heard he passed away but I never did confirm it until I found him here. A fantastic Marine. A Marine who defined, and made Marines. I'll never forget. It's been over a year since anyone wrote in memory of him and this saddens me. This man is one of many who have sacrificed their lives in duty to their country. With much love, respect and admiration I honor this man today. Semper Fidelis Staff Sergeant. Wed, 03 Jun 2015 01:11:11 -0700 William Halverstadt on May 27, 2015 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/allan-k-walker/#c180492 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/allan-k-walker/#c180492 As childhood friends through out our high school years and beyond, Allen's personality always commanded a substantial amount of respect; both received as well given to others. We were always rambunctious, curious to see how far we could push the limits of ourselves and the law, and always finding new ways to go beyond those limits without getting caught. Allen was always the protector, guardian, or defender of those who couldn't stand up for themselves and I was more the helper, thinker, and problem solver. I guess that's why he became a Marine and I became a Sailor. Allen's family took me in and called me son the moment they met me, and my family took Allen in, called him son the moment they met him. We may not be blood but we will forever be brothers. Wed, 27 May 2015 01:53:45 -0700 D.J.
