I went to HS with Jamie. I didn't know him that well, but I thought about him a lot, years later, when I was in Ramadi. I know his family and friends miss him dearly. RIP, Devil Dog. I had the Honor of serving with SSG Burdick in Iraq as a fellow weapons squad Soldier and he set the bench mark for standards and discipline among all the Soldiers. He spoke highly of his wife, and children and was like a big brother to all of us. He will always be remembered. He loved his wife Jeni and their 2 children very, very much...this I am sure of! Richard was a warm and caring person who would give you the shirt off of his back without question. It is hard to believe he is gone, but easy to believe that his life was cut way too short by deffending our country. Richard, it has been 6 years since you left this crazy world... Your beautiful wife is doing just fine, and your 2 beautiful children would make you proud... But then again, you & Erizen already both know that! It seems only fitting that the two of you are keeping Heaven's gates warm for the rest of us.... Rest easy, my friends. You are both our FALLEN HERO'S. I am honored to have know you both. You are truely two amazing, special young men. Love, K & family Thu, 31 Dec 2009 10:56:56 -0800
