To Rudys family, I cant begin to imagine how great your loss is. Rudy was so young and after 9 years, it must seem as yesterday to you. Our heavenly father Jehovah promised a resurrection. ar ( John 5:28, 29)You can be assured that Rudy will live again. as others did ,when Jesus was on the earth. Jehovah hates wars and promises that all wars will cease to the extremity of the earth.What a wonderful promise we have for the future!

Rudy was in my junior English class at Baldwin Park High School, which I still remember quite well. Rudy was quiet and always turned in his work. He put forth his best effort at all times, and he was one of my favorites in that first-period class. I used to tease him about the girl that sat in front of him, and Rudy would always smile at that. He was the kind of guy you could joke around with and he wouldn't take it personally. What a great kid. I could tell that Rudy had a good upbringing or that he was simply genetically inclined to be a good-natured, polite, and respectful person. I'll always remember you, Rudy. RIP.

On this Memorial Day of 2010, I wish to honor Corporal Rudy Salas and his family for his ultimate sacrifice. The love of a mother for her own son is beyond measure. Although several years have passed, I know Rudy still reigns in her heart. I too grew up in Baldwin Park but did not have the honor to have met Rudy. His former football colleagues from the Baldwin Park Braves noted him as an average athlete. But in the eyes of football great Vince Lombardi, he would call Rudy his number one player: "I believe in God, and I believe in human decency. But I firmly believe that any man's finest hour -- his greatest fulfillment to all he holds dear -- is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious."

i remember when Rudy came out for football he was a hard worker not the most gifted athlete but he did what we asked and then some. and those dam black socks lol. i rememeber saying to my self when he gets older he can tell his kids he played ball at baldwin park. now he will never get that chance. thank you Rudy for your sacrifice. semper fi

As Rudy's former roommate and fellow marine there is not a day that goes by that i don't think about him. I remember giving him rides home on the weekends, he was alway a dear friend to me. If I could have him back for one more night of drinking in the barracks! Rudy i miss you... till we meet again, Semper Fi brother.

Rudy was a great guy. I played football with him for a few years. He always came to practice and worked hard. I know that he is greatly missed by many. R.I.P Rudy
