You always helped me when I needed you. We sung together ,laughed together and I still wonder what life would be like if you were still around. You set a great example of how to be a Godly man. It was an honor serving in combat with you,I will never forget you brother see you in heaven. How I miss hearing your jokes and laugh! I miss you dearly! Till this day, it's still hard to think you are gone. See you soon! LOVE AND MISS YOU SO MUCH! Leonard Wood and we were in the same company and platoon together. I will never forget C Co 35 Engineer Battalion and I will never forget Astor. He was always joking around making people laugh. Sometimes the joking around would get a little excessive but you could never stay mad at him because before you knew it he done made you laugh again. My absolute last memory of him we were in formation fixing to go in the theater to graduate AIT and he was clowning me because the drill Sergeant had just smoked me in my dress greens for something stupid. I just found out today, 7 years after his death on Facebook what happened to him from another friend from basic and I am shocked that such a horrible thing could happen to such a person like him. After basic training and AIT we both got sent different places and lost touch, I really wish there was Facebook and all that then to keep in touch, but he is in heaven now lookin over everyone. WE LOVE YOU AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ON OUR HEARTS. Don't have too much in heaven cause we wanna have some fun too, when we get there.....until then my brother..................... He was the age of my son now. I can't imagine him taken away from me. To the family and friends of Astor, please take comfort in the promise of the resurrection that Jehovah our heavenly fafher promised at (John 5:28, 29)"...he will call and all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..."What a wonderful time that will be! Please talk to me. tell me how to be a better older brother. Its almost been five years without you, please help me Thu, 26 Apr 2012 12:07:45 -0700 Sgt Juarez Armando on March 25, 2012 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/astor-a-sunsin-pineda/#c72758 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/astor-a-sunsin-pineda/#c72758 Astor was like a little brother to me. We met during basic training in fort leonardwood in 2005. He was a very outgoing person, joking all the time. It was really hard to stay mad at him for more than 5 minutes because of his charisma. I think of you everyday; we deployed together to Iraq in 2007. I still remember telling his step dad a few days before leaving that he had nothing not worry about, that I would take of him, until this day those words still hunt me down because I could not accomplish what I promise. I had the honor to escort his body back to long beach for his funeral. I miss you and I wish that could have seen how much everyone thinks of you. I miss you little brother and one day we will see each other again, sorry it took so long to write on your wall, but you know how hard this is it. Sun, 25 Mar 2012 04:19:06 -0700
