I was at the dedication ceremony for the Michael T. Washington Memorial Library at Northeast Tacoma Elementary school, where he attended as a child. It was nice to see him honored. As a father, I am saddened to know the loss. Everything I have ever heard about him has been nothing short of fabulous. Good job Mom & Dad! My thoughts are with you... All the sergeants had NCODP at the 3ID Palace, you passed by me and said without words, "Whats up" by nodding your head and I replied the same. Thats the last time I saw you and the last memory I have of you. The next day a loud audible explosion thundered the Green Zone and we all rushed to the checkpoint to aide you in defending the gate where you were at, the G2 report was sent up and thats when I heard the sad news, that you would not be coming home with us, both anger & rage filled me that day. You were always a quiet humble professional Infantryman. You are truly missed, see you on the other side brother. He truly put his men and the mission first. I led him in training, not in combat, but I was proud to have him in my platoon, and was sad when we parted ways. You would have been a better person to know him. Sun, 25 May 2008 10:02:40 -0700
