My unit made several trips along a significantly boring stretch of road from Al Asad toward the Syrian border, bur Robert and his men were always there to put a smile on our faces and at lease bring peace to the potential of what might happen enroute. THAT is brotherhood in its absolute finest! And without sacrifice.Semper Fidelis you hero!!!!! Fri, 20 Jan 2017 05:26:07 -0800 E. Moczulski on October 10, 2015 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/daniel-isshak/#c181710 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/daniel-isshak/#c181710 Issak quickly became a good friend of mine on a pre-deployment trip to India. We seemed to be the two like minded guys who wanted to be there to party when everyone else was focused on training. His energy for good laughs and willing to do whatever wild idea came up next made him and me get along and in trouble together so well. When I saw him being carried away I knew the loss of him would stay with me forever. I dont talk to others about him often cause I selfishly hold onto his memories but often I think of him. They took a warrior from us in Hawija but he will never leave me. Rangers Lead the way! Sat, 10 Oct 2015 12:42:00 -0700 T. Kazan on August 5, 2015 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/daniel-isshak/#c181116 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/daniel-isshak/#c181116 I will never have another mentor and best friend as I did with you. Thank you for all the advice you gave me before the Army and the advice you gave me when I was in the Army. I carry you with me everywhere I go, my bracelets, screen savers, tattoos etc....The impact you left on my life is one that is irreplaceable. Till this day I can't listen to "Somewhere over the rainbow" without balling out like a wimp. You are sorely missed and loved. Guard the gates my friend, RLTW! Love you my brother. He was my platoon Sgt when I was in PSD on fob Mchenry assigned to the 25th ID 3rd brigade 2-27 inf (wolfhounds). The day you died Is still fresh in my mind as the day it happened. Till that day I don't remember the last time before that I cried probably when I was a kid. I know your in heaven and everyone can tell its you from that laugh of yours lol, I'll never forget you. Fri, 22 May 2015 08:15:46 -0700 SFC Michael McDaniel on June 7, 2014 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/daniel-isshak/#c160904 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/daniel-isshak/#c160904 Dan, you called me a couple of days before you went over there. You told me you were scared but you knew you were doing the right thing and you had great buds going with you. I understood your fear later, as when I went I had the same apprehension. I told you that you'd be fine and they can't kill or hurt you because you were too much of a bad ass. I was wrong and I'm sorry. I remember getting the call from another Ranger that we both knew.....I cried after it set in that it was real. You're gone and I'll never see you on this Earth again. I'm crying as I write this as I miss my friend, the guy that played guitar in my room....showing me a cool riff when I was trying to learn, the laugh that no one can imitate or forget, and most importantly, your beautiful soul. I miss you everyday man. I still have Randy's amp you let me keep after he passed at 4th...you have been with me everywhere I've been and will go and you went with me downrange too. Thanks for allowing me to love you as much as a fellow Soldier can. I am your non-tabbed, medic bud; the guy with the whimpy ankle and big head but who will forever have a hole in his heart missing his friend. RLTW Sat, 07 Jun 2014 09:46:20 -0700 Price D. I miss this great Trooper. His positive attitude and great laugh was something I will never forget. Freedom is never free. God Bless R.I.P. Instead of SSG Isshak. That's what I used to call him back in HHC company in the Army, he was a much higher rank than I and talking to a higher rank like that is never ok. That's the kind of person Dan was. One of the greatest men to ever serve our country. I will forever wear your name on my wrist. You're the man Dan. For your sacrifice, words do little to describe our sincere gratitude. However, There is a hope for a future where such wonderful people will not have to die in the wars of the world. ISAIAH 2:4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore....REV 21:3,4-"death will be no more" Fri, 30 Mar 2012 01:34:01 -0700 O Shurdim on May 15, 2011 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/daniel-isshak/#c51590 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/daniel-isshak/#c51590 God bless you Daniel.
