It means a lot to know there are people who do appreciate the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers. There are a lot of people who say it is all for no reason. So thank you. :) Tue, 30 Nov 2010 07:26:46 -0800 Summer on November 26, 2010 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/michael-s-hancock/#c41942 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/michael-s-hancock/#c41942 We are a USCG family living in Sitka, AK and I just happened upon the LA Times website, clicked on the fallen war heroes link and here I am reading about your step father, I want you to know that I appreciate your sacrifice and his! He taught me how to ride my bicycle when I was 7. He always treated me as one of his own children and loved me more than I know. He helped me with my homework and many other things. Although I don't remember much about him, I do remember that he was the kindest person ever and he loved my mom very much. And even though it was 5 and a half years ago, I still miss him terribly. But I know he's with God, so I am at peace knowing I will see him again when this world is done. Well if anyone has ever read this, thank you for everything. God bless.
