https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/charles-r-soltes-jr/#c117266To the family and friends of Charles I would like to offer my deepest condolences to all I know that this can still be hard to deal with I hope that you can take comfort in this hope found in the Bible at John 5:28,29 Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come outMon, 25 Mar 2013 08:30:11 -0700CPT Hong on November 4, 2010

https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/charles-r-soltes-jr/#c39551I was so glad that Maj Soltes was deploying with us - he was a very intelligent and competent officer with great trust for his NCOs. He is still missed six years later.Wed, 13 Oct 2010 09:32:03 -0700Adam Berger on October 16, 2009

https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/charles-r-soltes-jr/#c18604There aren't words to describe my gratefulness. There is noway for me to feel the pain you feel. And there is no magic to make it go away. The only thing I may be able to share with you is the pride you have in Charles. Because whether WE think the war is right or wrong doesn't matter to people like Charles. They go and they do thier job. Its that simple. May the burden of loss be less for you from day to day.
