I remember the night my husband asked me if I knew him and I remember thinking "Ya, I know Cody! We went to school together. I should look him up!" Then he gave me the article... Cody is a true hero and a personality that will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Always remember to keep in touch with others, no matter what! R.I.P. Cody! As your dad I can not be more proud of you for what your life represents, love of friends and your men. I had told Cody he was my hero, he asked me why. "I told him for what he was doing and for what he was willing to do". You demonstrated what you were willing to do for your men to come home. You are a true American hero, loved and missed by all who knew you. It is unfair the world should be robbed of the laughter that inherently followed him. It has been a while, and I saw this page. My friend and fellow Soldier deserves constant memorial. Still, to this day, Cody, you are not forgotten, but live in the lives of those you've touched. Will never forget him. He was a strong soldier, and a great man. You made a kick ass solider, and you would have made one hell of a fireman...I know that for a fact. You don't hear guys in this job say this alot, but from one brother to another, I am proud to say you are my hero. I will never forget you. Cody and my youngest daughter Candice were 3 years old, played and partied together and had a great time during the Summer. I always knew that Cody would one day grow up and be a "force to be reckon with" due to a great Mom and supporting family. He is a hero to all who enjoy and respect the freedoms that we have in this great Nation of ours. My salute and admiration to you Cody for your ultimate sacrifice. May God reward you with a special place at his "warriors table".
