The bible holds out the promise at Job 14:14-15 that the dead can live again. The bible tells us that this is God's desire and he will do so in the near future. Benning, GA. Prior to the race, I was approached by a volunteer to run in honor of a "fallen soldier". She led me to a table full of sheets of paper, all spread out, each with a biography and a picture. I felt really creepy "shopping" for a dead hero to run in honor of, but Daniel's story struck me. Being a father myself, I couldn't imagine the grief and loneliness his family is feeling, especially before the holidays. I picked up Daniel's paper, pinned it to my chest, and proceeded to the starting line. Daniel ran the whole race with me. His picture is now hanging on my wall at work, and will remain there as long as I do. It's the most memoriable part of my first marathon. RIP, and God bless your family. I hope they find peace.
