I would go by the warehouse and say hello, she was always in a jovial mood! When I noticed she was expecting I would go by and see how she was doing. She would not hear any talk of not deploying to Afghanistan. I deployed in support of the Brigade to Camp Fenty and had many pleasant visits with her and Josh when he would come to the base on resupply missions. Prior to the convoy departing on the resupply mission she volunteered for I noticed she was on the mission and I gave her a "Big Hug" and said I would see her upon their return! I was in the Chapel on the Sunday when they brought Josh to the Camp. I was devastated to hear the announcement of her being lost. I was scheduled to leave the camp early but I insisted on staying until after the Memorial Service at Camp Fenty. I returned to Ft Carson early because of a family medical issue and was able to attend the Memorial Services at Ft Carson. I stay in touch with Josh here in Colorado Springs. Eduviges you were the Epitome of a Fine Soldier and you will always be missed. From a friend!! I remember it everyday because it happened in my AO. Also because the Enemy used a flare to light up her vehicle before they fired on it. See, it was my flare. I left it out there. Everyday I think about the pain I have caused your family and how much your children must have cried. How your parents felt to see the Flag draped casket. Or your husband who lost his bestfriend and Soulmate. For that I don't deserve to be happy or to enjoy what life has to offer. I carry this with me every day. And I am so sorry. I am so sorry. I am so sorry. I am an Army Vet and I also taught at Leuzinger HS around the time she was a student. Unfortunately I did not know "Duvi" but she sounds like a true warrior, and I wish I had known her!!! It appears that we both had chosen similar paths and shared common real estate. Those common experiences somehow created an instant bond with Duvi the second I read her story and it is hard to explain said bond. I was not aware of her life and her passing until the H.P.D posted a memorial to her this Memorial Day 2016, and I wish to thank the P.D. for honoring such a fine warrior!! Rest Well Duvi and prayers for your family. /salute Tue, 31 May 2016 02:29:56 -0700 Danielle Randall on May 29, 2016 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/eduviges-g-wolf/#c184561 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/eduviges-g-wolf/#c184561 We remember our fallen, and thank you for our freedom. You where suppose to be driving that day, but because of the tight turns and difficulty terrain, you decided at the last minute not to drive. I remember this event like it was yesterday, best wishes and you will never be forgotten. Wolf... always polite and respectful to the many requests for clearance to enter her compound to refuel the equipment under her supervision. Always shining with an angel's blessing. Wolf, you will never be forgotten, I see you come into the DFAC in JBAD when we was there you would smile and light up the whole place. I used to talk to you all the time. I got to meet your husband great guy. I will never forget saying my good bye to you for the last time on the plane. I couldn't keep it together no matter how hard I tried. RIP my sister, my friend. To the family, I can't say as much as I want to but I'm so sorry for your loss and she was a great person. Every year on Memorial Day and the anniversary I reflect on the memories that we had in the SSA and how much fun we had. And the times we had during a baby shower and meeting your new baby girl for the first time. I remember seeing you for the last time when you came to BAF to do your reenlistment and seeing how excited you were about doing any other 3 years. And when I heard about it, I was heart broken. I didn't want to believe it until I came back to JAF and that's all everyone would talk about. I remember thinking and talking about this with someone that she won't see her daughters grow up and see her husband again. It was a really sad week for all of us. You are always in our thoughts and our hearts no matter where we go. We miss you very much. You are never forgotten SGT Wolf NEVER!! I may be back out here again in Afghanistan but I will never forget you. Mon, 27 May 2013 11:01:07 -0700
