I regret not living closer to him, he in California and I in New York. Evan phoned me often with news about his family and always asked me to visit, which I did. The time he was to visit me was in 2 weeks before this tragedy. Only another mother can understand the pain of losing a child! Evan, I miss and love you, my son. It's always a heartbreaking moment for me and his sister, Lauren. I miss him so much! I have so many memories and articles from Evan as he grew up. He loved being in the Army and the men who worked with him. He always had an upbeat attitude and I was told he always took care of whatever problem confronted his men. That was my Evan!!😇 Fri, 28 Jul 2017 08:48:45 -0700 Eric on December 31, 2016 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/evan-j-mooldyk/#c188195 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/evan-j-mooldyk/#c188195 I still miss you and it's been 6 years! We laughed a lot and make great "sammies". He was and is so special to me. Evan was such a straight arrow in all things. I asked him many times where he was going and he always said, with a smile, "Mom, if I told you, I would have to kill you" and of course, would not tell me anything the government told him. As a child, if we had an appointment at 10am, he would be pacing the floor and trying to rush me out way before the time. I miss him! I love him, my son! His tireless efforts to make things better for the troops inspired everyone around him. He was a great man and a great friend, and I pray that God has a special place in heaven for soldiers like him. Godspeed Evan, I will never forget you.
