The Freeway signs have been ordered and are being made. I kept my promise, "Semper Fidelis-Always Faithful". The worst that can happen to a person is being forgotton. I hope that with these signs, Javier Olvera's memory will remain alive, and that we may live better lives in this world. May his memory be an inspiration to all of us who are still here. Look near Ave P in Palmdale around May 26th. " For God, Country and Corps". Sgt. Finally finished raising the funds for the freeway project. In contact with Sacramento as of today and waiting for further instructions. I never thought this day would come. It was tough, but I never gave up. No surrender, and never quit, the Marine Corps way is the only way. For those that supported this effort God Bless you all. When you see those memorial signs remember, Olvera was a true American Hero, least we not forget. Its all about sacrifice and taking care of our brothers. As soon as I receive more information I will post it here. Take care my friends and may God be with us all. I'm in contact with Javiers' brother, Daniel Olvera. Hoping to have a 5K run in his honor to seal the deal. Making the freeway project sign has been tough. Never give up, no surrender. My mom and your mom are really close friends. I just found out that you passed away about three weeks ago. I remember one time your mom and dad went to a party and you and your brothers slept over my house. You were a fun kid. I remember you had a watch on with a light and didn't let us sleep because you kept playing with it. Good Memories. Once again thank you for my freedom. Thanks to heroes like you I can live a beautiful life here in the U.S. -Lily =) Tue, 17 Apr 2012 08:53:47 -0700 Veteran Marine Sgt.
