Because of this great impact, to keep you alive, your name was tattooed on my left arm last memorial day. I will carry you, and those I lost, with me always. I think and pray for you often. God bless you. Your smile and braveness give me the courage and inspiration give me the inspiration. After I read the comment from your old friend ML, I feel so sad for losing a wonderful person and hero. I think you can see how much your family, friends and strangers miss and respect you. I have a very good friend is also in Afghanistan and he is coming back in the end of next month. I can't wait to welcome home and hug him. I wish you can rest in peach and keep smiling. Hope I can meet you and say thanks to you in the great beyond. I'm sure he was a fine person. The Bible gives us hope, for it says at John 5:28,29 that there will be a ressurection. Those verses are letting us know we 'll have the chance to see our dead loved ones again. At Psalms 46:9 our Heavenly Father says He will cause all wars to cease. Thats something to look forward too. Please read Revelation 21:3,4 because it gives us a wonderful hope for the for the future. May the God of Comfort be with you. My thoughts and prayers go to the family of this American Hero. May you rest in peace and always be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to have had the chance to get to know you. Sun, 30 Jan 2011 08:59:33 -0800 Vernon Geiger on January 28, 2011 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/jose-torre/#c45353 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/jose-torre/#c45353 Jose, I was part of the Patriot Guard Riders escorting you at Los Al and again to Riverside. This was my second mission with the PGR, and as I stood in the flag line, behind your friends and loved ones at Riverside Arlington, I would have never thought that I would be chosen to be your final escort from the honor ceremony to your final ride in the coach. When the PGR "Gunny" said, "I need 6 PGRs NOW.", I was there, and thrown into a duty that is as honorable as the years I spent in the Army; albeit, a sad duty. The six of us veterans carried out our sudden call to service with dignity. It was not until I was home and started reading stories of your life and looking at pictures on the web that I wept for our loss of a fine young man. You and this PGR mission will forever be etched in my heart. God speed. Hooah!! He was an all around great person. Always made you laugh even when you were mad or sad it was him that could always turn your day around. Driving by the school following him Tues. when he came home all I could see and hear was Jose at the oppisite end of the hall running yelling STEPPPHHHHH with his hand out waiting for a high five...this was an everyday thing and if i didnt give him a high five he would stop and make sure i was ok. Im proud to say i shared many memories with a true heroe...you live on in my heart Jose now and forever. Thank you for losing your life for me and everyone else. -and to the Torre family I am sorry for your lose, he was an awesome man. Thank you for serving our country. I didn't know you but I am praying for you and your family. He enjoyed what he did; last time I had talked with him, it was very evident he had found his purpose in the Army. At West Cypress Church he attracted young as old as someone you wanted to be close too. I will miss him. Fri, 28 Jan 2011 07:26:13 -0800
