McDaniel Ret. MSGT, knew Josh. He taught him at Alder Grove School in Auburn, California. He watched him playing football there and got him transferred to Placer High where he was larger than life middle line backer playing two years varsity making all conference middle line backer. Mike Sabin was his coach at Placer. My Dad and Mike spoke after Josh passed on, sharing memories. They were both so very proud of him. He was dynamite playing football is how my Dad describes him. His teacher, Ms. Pat Brown, was very fond of him also. I am typing this as I am listening to my Father speak of him. I have to. I've never met this kid but I feel as if I know him after listening to everyone speak about him. He left a great impression on many people and is sorely missed. From me watching you on the field as a freshmen to seeing join the army. You lead the way in what man I wanted to be. You inspired me to play football and join the army to be a cav scout. Now I am here looking at you memorial at Bostick. It scares me everyday that this place will bring a end to all Placer students. It reminds me every time I walk past it that if a man like you can fall in this hellhole then i can fall twice as fast. Every time I put my head down, your memory inspires to fight much harder and climb that ridge line that much faster. Looking at your memory everyday. Rest In Peace. You were sitting on the coach with your leg proped up on your other knee like you always did...with a cup in your hand :) You were watching football very seriously...that face always made me laugh. I was bored and you told me to paint because you knew how much I loved it. You convined me to start a huge painting. We weren't speaking or interacting with each other, but we were so happy to know we were with each other. At one point you looked over and commented on how beautiful it looked and I hadn't even painted yet, it was just a rough sketch. That smile and glow on your face when you looked over at me made me feel so important to you. This memory of us is simple, but was us at the core. We didn't have to do much to make each other happy and totally content. You are my home. You always got me. I miss you everyday, every second. You are the love of my life, never forget that. I love you honey. I'll be seeing you. Love Always and Forever, Your Wife xoxoxo Thu, 25 Mar 2010 12:18:49 -0700
