The Bible give us hope. Almighty God Jehovah tells us that he will establish peace on earth. He will bring about heavenly government, where people will not learn war anymore because "He is making all war to cease to the end of the earth." (Psalms 46:9) God will bring an end to all the injustice and suffering. The Bible promises: "[God] will out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things [including today's injustices and suffering] have passed away."- Revelation 21:3,4. When we lose a loved one in death, the pain, the grief, and the feelings of helplessness can seem unbearable. At such times, we need to go to God's Word for comfort. The Bible can help us to answer such questions as: Is there a remedy for death? If so, what hope is there for the dead? Will we ever see our loved ones again? The Bible tells of an occasion when Jesus resurrected the only son of the widow of Nain, what joy she must have experienced!- Luke 7:11-17. This account involving this widow of Nain shows that the resurrection is the sure remedy for death. Under the rule of his Kingdom, the heavenly King Jesus Christ will resurrect untold numbers of people to life her on earth-but under peaceful and righteous conditions.(Acts 24:15; 3 Peter 3:13; Psalm 37: 29; Luke 23:43) This is in harmony with God's original purpose for man and the earth, Imagine the great ecstasy when the dead come back to life and are reunited with their loved ones! This knowledge also makes it easier to bear the pain that we experience when losing a close friend or relative in death. Wed, 21 Nov 2012 10:02:46 -0800
