Although we exchanged few words through Middle School, you could tell he was just a good honest person all around and would stick up for anyone given the need. Condolences to his family, and RIP to a great man and a true Hero. Always with Phil,Bob Rensen,(my husband) and sometimes others, when Kevin was home on leave and before he joined the Marines. I did not know him well but sure loved being with him and witnessing all that is Kevin. His bright smile, the words flying a mile a minute, his plans and enthusiasm for life, those big hugs. Kevin helped us move into our house 6 years ago and all he talked about then was joining the Marines. It was more than a calling, it was an urgent mission to be accomplished. I know that he loved the Marines and being a part of them. Although I did not know Kevin as well as I would of enjoyed he has a special place in my heart. He is easy to love and I miss him very much. A bright light has gone out on this planet but will never be forgotten. Thank you Kevin for your service and your enormous sacrifice. How happy she was. Then I met Phil at work. That is where I met Kevin when he was a kid. His dad would bring him to work on his vacations. Even then, he was a well behaved child. I saw Kevin more when came back from OK to live w/his dad. What a surprise to find that he was no longer a child, but a young man. He was a polite, happy person. What a great kid he turned out to be.. Phil was so proud of him.. I talked to Kevin about the "Marines" and he was so proud. He knew the consequences of going to battle and the risk. He actually couldn't wait. He said "he was fighting for his family and country". He had so many dreams. Well, heaven is now a better place. There is another 'Angel' looking down on us.. God bless Phil and family.. He did right by Kevin. I will miss Kevin's smiley face and personality. God bless u Kevin. Your memory will live on.. Words cannot express my sadness at your losses. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your sacrifice You make us all proud. And,when next we see a young soldier waiting for a bus ask them if we can give them a lift, maybe buy them a burger, it's the least we can do. Tue, 24 Aug 2010 07:47:25 -0700 Ursula leDesma-Kietzke and Family on August 19, 2010 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/kevin-cueto/#c35951 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/kevin-cueto/#c35951 As I sit here and try to think of the many memories to share about Kevin I cant help but laugh, cry and smile. Kevin was a a young man of respect, heartfelt work ethic and all about being protective of his family and friends. I never quite looked at my nephew Kevin as a man because to me and my family he was just "Kevin" who we argued/debated with, laughed with and many times listened to his stories. Words cant describe how proud we are of him and the great young man he is. I can only hope my young son has the work ethic, respect that Kevin did. Not many people can walk the talk but Kevin was one of the few that did and I am forever grateful for him. My family and I cherish the time we spent together with Phil,Tim and Kevin. I know Kevin loved and was proud to be a Marine and we knew this from the time he was a young boy. I never truly understood the sactrifices these young men and women make for us and I never knew what Kevin endured for his family and this country while in the Military until recently and for this I am thankful. Kevins Campbell,California family think about him everyday and truly miss him, his great personality but know that he will be waiting for us with open arms one day. So thank you Kevin Cueto for all that you did and also to Auntie Kelly and Nino Phil for raising a great son/man, our world needs more men Like Kevin. We love you-The Kietzkes,Campbell California Thu, 19 Aug 2010 08:10:17 -0700 Odilia Cupp on August 18, 2010 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/kevin-cueto/#c35919 https://projects.latimes.com/wardead/name/kevin-cueto/#c35919 I work with Kevin's dad, Phil. When Phil introduced me to Kevin, I was not surprised that he was a kind, and complete gentleman - just like his father. Kevin was a happy guy, always full of smiles and energy. Before he left to Afghanistan, he assured me that he knew what he wanted, he knew what he was getting into, and in his words he wanted “to be right there on the front lines”. Kevin was a very passionate war-fighter and there was no convincing him otherwise. He was determined to make this world a better place for his family and friends. Kevin paid the ultimate price so that we can enjoy the freedom we have today. It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to this very special hero. Wed, 18 Aug 2010 05:25:38 -0700
