It's been seven years since we lost you and James. It was an honor to serve with you, Marcus. There are two reasons as to why I will always remember him. First, no matter what, Tynes always had a positive attitude. He didn't have it easy when he first came to our unit. He struggled a bit but no matter what, he never let it bring him down. No matter what challenges he encountered, he always tackled it with a good attitude and looked for the silver lining. Which brings me to my next point. He was the hardest working private in the platoon. He was always motivated and gave 100%. He was always giving it his all, that was one thing you never had to worry about him. I think about him from time to time, which is why I am here posting this information. All I can say is that the world lost a special person when he died. I should have been in that vehicle that day. God bless you and I will always remember you. J. I am a Vietnam era vet and I hope you don't mind me extending my comments on your son's memorial page. Your son was a very handsome young man and I'm sure from the comments I've read herein that he was exceptional in character also. "Thank-you" for raising such a wonderful son who gave his life for our country. I am very sorry this had to happen to you and to his many friends. Sat, 20 Nov 2010 09:25:10 -0800
