Honestly, I don't even know what to say. I remember talking to you and both of us saying I'll see you when we both come back from deployment, but...we know that never happened. Anyways, rest easy friend and I will be sure to pay my respects in person soon. When our loved ones die, we mourn. and we may ask: What has happened to them? Are they suffering? Are they watching over us? Can we help them? Will we ever see them again? The world's religions offer differing answers to these questions. I am sure you all have heard the majority of view points out there. What really happens at death is no mystery to Jehovah(God), the creator of all things. He knows the truth, and in his Word, the Bible, he explains the condition of the dead. Its clear teaching is this: When a person dies, he ceases to exist. Death is the opposite of life. The dead do not see or hear or think. Not even one part of us survives the death of the body. We do not possess an immortal soul or spirit. In Bible book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 9:5,6,10 it says that:" As for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all." That they can neither love nor hate and that"there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in [the grave]." What the Bible teaches about the condition of the dead is comforting. But the question now is . Will we ever see our dead loved ones again? The Bible teaches that many millions of people who are dead in the grave will return to life on earth.(read Luke 23:43; Acts 24:15. By means of a resurrection[John 5:28,29] God made hope for the dead possible by sending his son to die for us. So the resurrection tells us about Jehovah(God's) love and undeserved kindness extended to us humans- John 3:16. When the dead return to life, whom do you especially want to see?
