I stood across him in the "kill zone" and he while we were getting "smoked" he would look up at me and start laughing at how stupid it was and I couldn't help but laugh and we would have to do more push ups but we both knew it would be over. I replaced Davis in Chergotaw or however that awful place's name is spelt. I ran into him as we did a change over and promised him when we got home I would buy him a drink...I never got too and nothing haunts me more than that moment. He was such bright light in my life and to have it extinguished is something that I'll never let go. Davis was one of the kindest people I know and gave more than most people would ever consider. I miss you buddy. I still owe you that drink. War continues to claim untold numbers of human lives. All of us have been touched by human suffering. The question many have pondered is: Will War and Suffering Ever End? People of various religions have gone to their religious leaders and teachers to ask why there is so much suffering. Often the response is suffering is God's will and that he long ago determined everything that would ever happen, including tragic events. Many are told that God's ways are mysterious or that he brings death upon people--even children-- so that he can have them in heaven with him. But a close examination of God's Word the Holy Bible reveals at [Job 34:10] " Far be it from the true God to act wickedly, and the Almighty to act unjustly!" What the Bible teaches: God foretells a time when he will establish peace earth wide. Under his Kingdom, heavenly government, people will not "learn war anymore." Instead, they will "beat their swords into plowshares." (Isaiah 2:4) God will bring an end to all injustice and suffering. The Bible promises: " God(Jehovah- Psalm 83:18) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things[ including today's injustices and suffering] have passed away." read Psalm 37:10, 11. The Bible teaches that many millions of people who are dead in the grave will return to life on earth by means of the resurrection Read Luke 23:43; Acts 24:15. These resurrected ones will be able to learn the truth about God and to exercise faith in God's Son(Jesus) by obeying him.[ Revelation 20:11-13; John 5:28,29] Those who return to life and do good things will be able to enjoy life forever on earth. The question now is: Whom do you especially want to see? Fri, 28 Sep 2012 08:16:56 -0700
