I was impressed with him when I met him in the police academy. I remember he shot expert before we went on our ride along's, it took me 10 years to complete the same task. I'm proud to have his face on my wall next to my shadowbox every time I visit my father in Arlington I stop off and see my academy classmate. Lest we never forget your sacrifice my friend. It is my hope that today we look back on the fond memories of your life and not focus on the sting and pain of your loss. Semper Fi ! My wife and son were in DC on a high school field trip last week and visited RJ at Arlington. They sent me a picture of RJ's stone and it was decorated with pictures and memento's. RJ touched alot of people in 45 years and they are not forgetting what he meant to them. Condolences to his family on this solemn and painful anniversary. RJ you are missed my friend. Semper Fi ! And even if we haven't, I know he was very loved, just what is read from his family and friends proves. I am a daughter of a military family myself, and possibly some day, I might serve also. But as of right now, all I can say is he is serving not our country, but the Lord. I know he will be dearly missed, but it won't be for long, because who knows? Soon maybe we will see him again in person. Maybe I will meet him too. I look forward to it. Semper Fidelis, R.J. I learned from a friend years ago that he was with LAPD. I had a career with the USMC as he did in the armor field. I also chose law enforcement as a new career. I contacted him a while back and we talked about past times and getting together. Now I won't have that opportunity. I will miss him. Farewell my friend. Heavens gates are surely being guarded well now that you are there and without a doubt dug in well. I will see you again someday amigo. Save a spot in the foxhole for me. I've got your back.
